{"id":384,"date":"2025-04-14T14:17:37","date_gmt":"2025-04-14T14:17:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/oneroyal.academy\/?p=384"},"modified":"2025-05-26T06:51:09","modified_gmt":"2025-05-26T06:51:09","slug":"what-is-a-trailing-stop","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.oneroyal.academy\/en\/faqs\/what-is-a-trailing-stop\/","title":{"rendered":"What is a Trailing Stop?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A Trailing Stop is essentially a Stop Loss that automatically gets modified (changes the SL price) as the market price rises for Buy Orders or decreases for Sell Orders.<\/p>\n<p>The way it works is simpler than it probably sounds.<\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s assume that the price of EURUSD is 1.200<strong>10<\/strong> and that you opened a Buy Order at that price.<\/p>\n<p>Adding a Trailing Stop of 10 Points will automatically add a SL on your position at 1.200<strong>10<\/strong> once the market reaches the level of 1.200<strong>20<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>(1.200<strong>20<\/strong> &#8211; 1.200<strong>10<\/strong>) = <strong>10 points or 1 pip<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If the market goes even higher at 1.200<strong>30<\/strong> then the SL will automatically be modified at 1.200<strong>20<\/strong> and so on.<\/p>\n<p>While the market drops, the SL will not adjust or readjust itself.
